At noon, for the dance challenge, the judges announced that no one will be eliminated. The acts were given the last challenge, of which they will sing a song they personally picked. At the end of the day, 20 acts made it to the next round, while one group was formed, Lucky Girls , made up of 6 solo female acts that didn't make it through namely: Alyssa Quijano, Auriette Divina, Monique Lualhati, Katrina Velarde , Jhelsea Flores and Ashley Campbell.
The judges' home visit was the last stage of the selection process. The episodes were aired on July 28 and During this stage, it was revealed that Nievera would mentor the Boys, Charice would mentor the Girls, Corrales would mentor the Over 25s, and Valenciano would mentor the Groups.
The final selection process was aided by a guest judge per category. Each week, the top acts performances took place on Saturday nights, while the results are announced during Sunday nights.
Each week has a different set of theme. Often during results nights, guests are invited live to perform; while the remaining acts during results nights also feature group performances.
However, during the airing of the results night, the three did not appear for due to unknown reasons. Jovit Baldivino and Yeng Constantino performed during the third results night and gave a special birthday tribute to Pilita Corrales ; [14] while Star Power's grand champion, Angeline Quinto , performed on the fourth results night. Dancers, an American dance group, made a special dance number from the song of Rihanna's "Where Have You Been" during the start of the show. Maria was eliminated on week 9. She reached the grand finals on October 7, and was proclaimed the winner of The X Factor Philippines. Jerrianne Mae Templo is a year-old diver and singer from Bohol. Prior to joining the show, she competed in "Search For A Star" when she was only 12 years old and eventually reached the grand finals where Rachelle Ann Go emerged as the winner.
She sang "Fever" by Ella Fitzgerald during the Judges' home visit. On week 1, she landed on the bottom 2 with Joan Da. Templo was eliminated after Corrales, Nievera, and Valenciano decided to eliminate her over Da; her mentor, Charice, however backed her.
She was eliminated on August 5, and came in 12th place. The Over 25s category is mentored by Pilita Corrales. Contestants from this category were males and females from ages 26 and above. On weeks 1 and 5, she landed on the bottom 2 with Jerianne Templo and Takeoff, respectively, but she survived elimination both times. She was Corrales' last remaining act after Modesto Taran was eliminated on week 4. On week 6, she landed again on the bottom 2 with Allen Sta.
Da was eliminated after Charice, Nievera, and Valenciano decided to eliminate her over Sta. Maria; her mentor, Corrales, however backed her. She was eliminated on September 9, and came in 7th place. Mark Louis Mabasa is a year-old freelance singer. Prior to joining the show, he competed in Diz Iz It! Before the judges gave their verdict, his mom, who was Corrales' fan, was asked to join him onstage and sing a Pilita Corrales song.
On week 2, he landed on the bottom 2 with Takeoff. Charice and Valenciano decided to eliminate him over Takeoff, but Nievera and his mentor Corrales backed him. With the judges deadlocked for the first time in the series, Mabasa was eliminated as the act with the fewest public vote. He was eliminated on August 12, and came in 11th place. During the judges' auditions, he sang My Way , a song popularized by the American singer, Frank Sinatra. The performance of Taran made Charice emotional after the song and Taran himself reminded her of her late father.
On week 4, he landed on the bottom 2 with Takeoff. Taran was eliminated after Valenciano, Charice and his own mentor, Corrales, decided to eliminate him over Takeoff. This is the first time in the series wherein a judge saved an act from another category over an act from her own category.
He was eliminated on August 26, and came in 9th place. The Groups category were mentored by Gary Valenciano. Contestants from this category were duos or vocal groups. However, all members of a group must be at least 16 years old. The members originally auditioned as soloists but failed to make it to the Top 20 of the Girls category.
However, the judges decided to bring them together at bootcamp, thus forming a group called Lucky Girls and qualified for Groups category, making it to the Top During the first live performance night, the group was renamed as A. Jam , which is based around the member's first initials in their names.
On week 3, they landed on the bottom 2 with fellow group Daddy's Home. This is the first time in the series wherein the bottom two acts came from the same category. Corrales and Valenciano decided to eliminate them over Daddy's Home, but Nievera and Charice backed them. With the judges deadlocked, A. Jam was eliminated as the act with the fewest public vote.
