Soul why are you so downcast

Why are you cast down, O my soul? Psalm Why art thou cast down, O my soul? Second, help is found when you renew your mind with truth about God. Rehearse scriptural truths about God. Is your spirit troubled? Are you downcast in your soul? Why am I so troubled? I will put my hope in God, and once again I will praise him, my savior and my God.

Hope in God. For I will again give him thanks, my saving presence and my God. What a strange situation! It must be remedied. This is the first step if you would be delivered from your depression.

But of course you must not stay alone with yourself, otherwise you will become more depressed than ever. Notice that David did this, as verses 5 and 6 make clear. There may be a number of reasons for your depression Verse 6 tells us how well David did this and how wise it is when we are downcast to share our experience with the Lord. This is wonderful therapy for the despondent soul. You need to remind yourself that this God is your God.
