I don't know how I got it to work before. John's helpful ideas are still there, but I can't get the same results, unfortunately. Don't know how I did it before, as "paste special" is grayed out. Skype was at one time reported as causing a problem I think it monitored the clipboard for something - never used it, so don't know for certain. You know what you are doing on your computer - is there any possibility of some application you are using doing something to the clipboard?
This prevents all unnecessary utilities starting. If it now works OK, it is something which runs when the PC starts causing the problem.
This keeps your macros, added dictionary words etc. You will have to re-input your name, and you will lose the list of opened files and some other trivia. What you described is how it used to work for me.
But not now. The copy "paste" is absolutely empty in OO but I can drop the same paste with its word or phrase right into the search field of Firefox then re-copy right from the search block and THEN it would show up as a "paste" on OO.
Last edited by toss usa. LibreOffice 7. As far as I know I had nothing to do with a profile. Looked in OO help and it does not mention profile. But still a kind of workaround for those relying on the toolbar buttons. I think that I've seen that in the past but I've removed that icon a while ago. It's like AOO sometimes is not un sync anymore with the clipboard.
Now restart the PC and choose Safe Mode. Now try to copy and paste in AOO. Edit: Be sure to note the original msconfig settings so you can set them back afterwards If it now works, you have a program intefering with AOO.
Restart the PC normally. Delete the profile as described in 2 above. If that doesn't work either I cannot think of anything else to suggest.
That is the only major difference between the 2 computers. The computer with Word makes Apache act strangely in all sorts of ways. Signing off and thanks again. Don't think you have got a clue.
