Why does treyarch hate quickscoping

I don't think you can blame any people for quickscopers in MW2, the game was just seriously flawed. This is good news for run n gun people like myself. I need to know, do you guys hate Quickscoping all around, just the little brats who yell at you when you Hardscope, hit detection, what? Cause, it doesn't seem like it's so much the Quickscoping, just what has made quickscoping Hit Detection, Auto Aim, etc.

There was a game for ps2 set in ww2 that was about a sniper and it had perfect sniper mechanics evrything u mentioned if that was in the ps2 why cant the ps3 have it. Now if somebody decided to make a game with real gore, real sniper mechanics, realistic realoding, and the jamming of the guns it would be amazing and i would buy it.

Alright so first off quick scoping started off in cod2. In cod4 the acog sight for snipers was introduced to allow for quickscoping. Now yes people used reg scope to quickscope but that's besides the point. In mw2 soh pro was meant to help snipers quickscope so its not a flaw, it's a game mechanic. Now i personally love quickscoping in general, it doesn't matter which cod cod4, cod5, mw2 , but i'm not upset about soh pro not working on sniper classes in Black Ops as i use marathon rather than soh pro.

And im glad that quickscoping will take skill again. And for the record i hardscope like a champ when its necessary. Oh and one last thing, for those that don't know, zzirGrizz pretty much invented quickscoping and original thinking in the cod series. He's a well known youtuber. Optic is a competitive sniping clan and are probably the most well known but not necessarily the best.

I hope it ends quick scopers. In mw2 they were annoying. It was fun to quick scope in private matches though. If I ever use a sniper in mw2 I use it the way it is supposed to be used.

I barely ever snipe though. Real snipers never have to worry about that as most never shoot past a mile and the ones who do normally use high tech equipment Also quickscoping was not big until the first half of this year. I'm sorry for saying that if you are, but there are a TON of imitators out there, as you know and I hope you can understand mate. Shoreyo : I put the Corriolis Effect there just cause, does it really matter?

Seeing as how the rest of what I've put really can determine a shot almost always. I also don't see Jamming being put to use in MP, it may work for other games, but I don't see it happening in such a fast-paced game. Quickscoping is the cheapest way to get kills in MW2, but it is also one of the easiest. I remember the first time I got quickscoped in a match, so the next match I asked him what he was using and copied him.

After that I didn't do it very much cause it felt cheap. I like to feel like I'm earning my kills, maybe that's just me. You need to be a member in order to leave a comment. Gr4phix Posted September 19, YourdaWince Posted September 19, As if making a sniper's primary weapon nearly useless by comparison wasn't enough, Treyarch also dialed down the damage dealt by the pistols in this game effectively leaving a cornered sniper without a close range weapon to fend off a rushing opponent, again leaving the deck stacked against a sniper.

The final nail in the coffin for the snipers, which is one i don't really have a problem with "on paper", is the decision to take measures against quick scoping. In case anyone doesn't know what that is, just go to youtube and type in quickscoping and see for yourself. Now i'll be the first to admit the rage that consumed me when a quickscoper would decimate my entire team in MW2, but coupled with the rest of the changes listed above, this just comes off as overkill.

The snipers are effectively nearly useless class unless you need a last resort tool to take out a person who's been dug-in a particular location and all other efforts have failed. In short, i think Treyarch has made a fantastic multiplayer game. I enjoy it even though i have my opinion on things that could be made different just as i'm sure you have yours.

Still, it's a bummer to see a whole class of weapons rendered useless because of abuse they've suffered in the past and I admit that they WERE abused in previous games. The draw to CoD multiplayer for me has always been the different play styles all being thrown into the same game creating a delightfully fun sense of chaos that i don't want to see reduced to guys running around with the same 3 weapons.

Cod 4 and 6 were just bad for sniping. Cod 4 everyone just ran around like idiots with acogs no scoping and stupid stuff like that. MW2 I just went around spraying my barret not worrying about having to get my secondary out ever.

Fair enough the games meant to be fun. But the sense of realism should be there and reward you for playing like a sniper actually would. I find it fun when snipers are a niche class and play the support role. I run around with pistol out when I change spots, something I would never bother doing in the last couple of games.

Everything was so crazy unbalanced yet because of that almost every playstyle was good. Fuck even the lmg's were good in mw2. Because they wanted to make a game that revolved around mid-range combat.

Also, being sniped is no fun. Using a sniper for close - medium range isn't the intended purpose of a sniper rifle, that's why. It's not that they hate sniper rifles it's that for the longest time sniper rifles in call of duty games have been fucking jacked. Under no circumstances should a person be able to instantly bring up a rifle and have perfect accuracy or be able to do four spins and manage to pull off a perfectly accurate shot. What these people were doing was a known issue with the game were simply tapping the left trigger was enough to register you as "fully scoped" which allowed you full accuracy.

It was dumb bullshit that needed to go away and as a result sniping is definitely harder but i'd argue it's more rewarding now when you manage to do it well. I mean look at stupid shit like this:. It's hard to begrudge treyarch for trying to create a level playing field for everyone. In games like COD3 the snipers made the larger maps their own play-ground, and to a similar extent World at War. The problem is they've nerfed the weapon class back so much that, for me at least, I feel as if I need to use the ACOG to get a decent aim in the tighter corridors.

My favorite maps are those that cater to both types: tighter, multi-opened corridors for close-mid range, and the larger sections for snipers to have their own fun. Sniping is definitely harder in Black Ops than previous Call of Dutys, but I have actually been able to get pretty good with it. At first, it definitely seemed like it was useless, but you eventually get a feel for it. I think my K:D with the L96A1 is something like 3. I don't mean to simply be bragging, just saying that it is possible to do well once you adjust your playstyle.

My sniper loadout: L96A1, Variable Scope Dual Pythons using dual pistols allows for a new, fully-loaded pistol in Last Stand Tomahawk Claymore Ghost Pro Scout Pro once you get this, fighting at close range is much easier Last Stand Pro One other tip is to always switch out your secondary as soon as you walk over a new weapon. Four of the five quick play modes require players to capture points, or collect items in addition to eliminating players on the opposite team, but I found that all too often these objectives were ignored.

The mode in which this was most apparent and frustrating was Kill Confirmed. If you've played any Call of Duty game in the past, you'll know that there's a recurring issue with players running straight past the dog tags that are left on the floor in this mode. Bizarrely, I've seen countless players—even those wielding SMGs and assault rifles—skitter past tags as if they're not the entire point of the mode, and this has been the case across multiple Call of Duty games in recent years.

As someone who loves the idea of this objective, I usually finish these matches with a minimum ratio of tags to eliminations, simply because others refuse to scoop them up. But it genuinely feels as though the sniper rifles are to blame this time around. Rather than contribute to the team's score, there are too many players that prefer to sit back in the buildings on Miami, or lurk in the dunes of Satellite and snipe across the map. This issue continues across the quick play carousel in modes like Domination, Control, and Hardpoint.
